Geologist Jobs

What is a geologist?

An engineering geologist's main responsibility is in providing analysis and risk assessments on hazardous terrain. They must look at the condition of the ground to determine whether it's stable, before any engineering projects are executed on that land.

Geologist salary

A geologist can expect to earn £25,000 to start with, but that will likely increase to between £40,000-50,000 in senior positions. Pay can vary between industries as some are seen as more high risk than others - for example, working with oil or gas. In addition, onsite conditions can be physically draining, though there is the chance of working offsite in a lab or office environment later on in one's career.
